"Eagle Pride Alternative High School was formed in 2000 to offer an alternative form of high school education for the students of Andes Central High School District. The mission of Eagle Pride is to provide an opportunity for the student not succeeding in the traditional classroom to obtain academic credit and extend teacher/peer support in an alternative setting where the primary goal is the of obtaining a diploma." That is how Jeff Iverson, a teacher at Eagle Pride, describes Eagle Pride. He and Sherry Leasure, the Jr. High teacher, help students who cannot meet the requirements set by the state of South Dakota, excel in the areas where they struggle. Through Eagle Pride many students have graduated and have gone to college or have a job.
