🎓Avery Schacht - Class of 2021 Senior Spotlight

Avery “Peekers” or “Aves” Schacht is the daughter of Theresa and Will Bennett, and TJ Schacht.  She was born May 12, 2003 in Yankton, SD.  Her siblings are Jacob Payer (24), Annalea Chytka (25), Tate Bennett (7), and Taryn Bennett (5).  Classes Avery took this year included Physics, Language Arts, and Choir.  While in high school, she participated in FFA, NHS, volleyball, rodeo, track, and 4-H.  If Avery could start high school over, she would have started rodeo sooner.  In her spare time, she enjoys working with her show animals, hunting, fishing, and exploring. A favorite childhood memory was going fishing/hunting, going to Brad’s farm to help with cattle, and family gatherings.  Avery’s greatest strength is her will to proceed & never give up, while her greatest weakness is procrastination.  She wants to be remembered for helping people & being a nice person, and her most interesting aspect is how many bones she has broken/injuries she has had, including 3 concussions.  Avery’s accomplishment she is most proud of is her 4-H showing & rodeo.  Her favorite TV show is The Masked Singer & Grey’s Anatomy, and favorite Song/Musical Group is Rolling Stone by Lainey Wilson.  Avery’s favorite class is Shop and her favorite teacher was all of them.  Avery is most inspired by her family because they have always helped her achieve her goals & pushed her to be her best.  Her most memorable moment at school was when she worked concessions for Parent/Teacher Conferences as a Junior & the boys started slapping each other with ham as they were cleaning up.  Avery’s most embarrassing moment was having the teachers kiss a pig for an FFA contest.  Seeing friends everyday & getting to talk to them is what she will miss most about high school.  If Avery could start high school over, she wouldn’t change a thing, because she enjoyed the experience.  If a teacher would describe Avery, they would say that she is a hard worker & she helps kids that need it.  Friends would describe Avery as funny, smart, crazy, and outgoing.  Her goal for the future is to attend SDSU for Animal Science and eventually work towards her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University.

Congratulations Avery on your graduation & best wishes!
