
After learning about the revival of art and learning during the Renaissance and Reformation periods, students in Ms. Keizer's World History class tried their hand at creating trading cards of famous artists, writers, and architects from that era.



Andes Central will be celebrating FFA week February 17th - 21st with dress up days, teacher appreciation breakfast, and Ag Olympics at the end of week!


Three students represented Andes Central at the Regional Vocal Contest held in Kimball on February 5th. Emery performed “Greensleeves” and received a Superior or a I; Madilyn performed “A Poor Wayfaring Stranger” and received a Superior or a I; Taylor performed “The Water is Wide” and received an Excellent or a II.
The judges for the event were the vocal professors from Dakota Wesleyan University and Augustana University. They had very impressive and important feedback to help with leadership and performance.

Associated School Boards of South Dakota honors & recognizes the Andes Central School District board members during the week of February 17-21, 2025. AC/DC Thunder will host Freeman Academy/Marion @ DC tonight. JV girls will start @ 4pm with 2 quarters only, followed by JV boys. V girls will start @ 6 pm, followed by Senior/Parent Night Recognition, then V boys game. DCS junior parents will also be serving a pork loin sandwich meal starting @ 5:30pm. I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream. Andes Central is also screaming for the junior class! When their grade check was run last week, EVERYONE was passing EVERY class. We are proud! Keep up the great work juniors!



The first graders in Mrs. Hellenga's class practiced for the spelling bee by playing spelling basketball. If students spelled a word correctly, they got a point and were able to shoot a basket for a second point. The students had so much fun while practicing their spelling words.




Mrs. Maynard's Physics class is studying how elevators affect weight and normal forces. Thank you to Mel for running the lift for the class.
