Andes Central School's Teacher Spotlight ~ Ms. Tracie Larabee

Due to the weather forecast, the Region boys basketball games scheduled for tonight have been rescheduled to tomorrow, March 7th. Lyman vs Corsica-Stickney will start @ 5pm; AC/DC vs Lower Brule will start @ 6:30pm; Games will be at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
Ms. Kaiser's afternoon classes took advantage of the nice weather and utilized the outdoor classroom. The students enjoyed getting some fresh air while getting some final third quarter work done.



The fifth graders have started brainstorming ideas for their next writing project. They will be writing a realistic fiction story, focusing on characters, settings, and events that could happen in real life. Students are writing their ideas and building on each other's thoughts as they plan their stories. Over the next few weeks, they will begin organizing their ideas and drafting their narratives.







Reminder: There will be no school on Friday, March 6th due to Staff Inservice.

No matter what the grade or age, cooperation and teamwork is encouraged in Andes Central PE classes. It's great to watch the collaboration and communication take place between students as they work to be successful as both individuals and teams!




AC students have the opportunity to participate in this year's Missoula Children's Theatre. Auditions will be after school on Monday, March 9th from 3:45pm-5:45pm in the main gym. Permission forms were sent home with elem students. MS/HS students can pick up the form in the office. Please fill out & return the permission form if you would like your child to participate. The first graders in Mrs. Herrold's class had a great time in science class discovering which things would sink or float!

For writing last week, Miss Arpan’s third grade class worked on researching an important historical figure for Black History Month. Students did research, wrote rough drafts, and then typed their final draft.




Mrs. H's preschool class has been learning all about habitats. This week we have been exploring the rainforest. Throughout the week we have talked about the climate, what it looks like, what animals live there and where. Next week we will be exploring the Savanna.




The Lakeview Colony students in the 5th-8th grade room followed the 2026 Winter Olympics that took place in Milan, Cortina. We had flags hanging in the hallway for each of the 92 countries that participated and kept track of each medal they won.
The students also incorporated math skills, reading, research, and writing to learn more about their favorite sports.

Students in Ms. Dvorak's Health Science Careers class have been learning about disease transmission and the best way to stop the cycle, proper handwashing, which is a basic skill for all careers in any healthcare setting.

The 4th graders are making diagrams of different animal habitats for science! They also got to enjoy sticker puzzles during library time.

Mrs. Wilbur's 8th grade CASE class is testing their knowledge by playing a game called Fact Check as part of their Too Good For Drugs program.
