Five of our AC/DC basketball players were chosen to play in the East/West Shootout game in Gregory on March 24. Congrats to Ryder, AJ, Josie, Mahpiya, and Leah for being selected.
Mahpiya also won the three point contest! Way to represent Thunder Basketball!
On Saturday, Andes Central students performed in Missoula Children's Theatre production of Rumpelstiltskin. A huge shoutout to the parent volunteers who helped out! The kids had fun & did a great job!
On Thursday, March 20th, Andes Central MS/HS Band & Vocal students had their Spring Concert. Congrats on an amazing performance!

Mrs. Hellenga's class has been learning to read and write words with ar. We used the wheel of names to pick partners to read a story about barns. Then students had to write down ar words they found in their story.
On March 19th, Andes Central FFA traveled to Lyman for their CDE. The Livestock Judging team placed 9th, Horse Judging team placed 8th, and Floriculture team placed 3rd! Great job AC FFA!

Mrs. Maynard's Biology II class is studying the Cardiovascular System, looking at EKGs, Blood Pressure, and Heart Rate.
On March 19th, Andes Central sent three teams to the Prairie Reader competition in Armour. Second grade: Evyn, Zeke, Kashton, Ezra, Tatem, and Ian. Third grade: Jeri Ann, Kharis, and Nevaeh. Fifth grade: Addisyn, Bella, Madelyn, Ella, Demi, and Kateline.
Second grade won first place in their grade and fifth grade won first place in their grade. The kids were so excited, and they all said they want to do it again next year.

In Mrs. Johnson’s U.S. History class, students are learning about the challenges faced on the Oregon Trail by playing the Oregon Trail game.

So far this season, Andes Central FFA has attended two CDE's. March 3rd they went to Bridgewater-Emery and March 10th they went to Howard.
Miss Ekroth's second grade class wrote about why they feel "lucky" to be at Andes Central for St. Patrick's Day🍀.
Second and fourth grade participated in a STEM activity together. Each group was given two pieces of paper, a strip of tape and scissors. They had to come up with a plan of how to make the longest chain in fifteen minutes. MayLinda and Bryce were our winners.

JAG students went to Dakota Wesleyan University for the Career Development Conference to compete for a chance to advance to the National JAG Conference in Indianapolis. Students competed in Knowledge Bowl - Prepared Speaking - Employability Skills and Financial Literacy.
In Mr. Halverson's class, students were learning about how to write exponential functions to modal real-life problems dealing with growth. They also introduced compound interest and learned what it is used for big and small.
As part of the read across America, high school students had the pleasure of reading their favorite Dr. Seuss books to elementary students earlier this month.
