Andes Central MS/HS Academic Awards will be Monday, May 11th @ 2:30pm in the Aux Gym.
In Ms. Smith's preschool class, we learned about the letter "V" by exploring volcanoes. We created our own volcanoes using clay and then watched them erupt by mixing baking soda and vinegar. It was a fun and exciting way to connect the letter "V" with a hands- on activity!

Andes Central's Kindergarten Round-Up will be Thurs. April 30th from 9:30-11:30am for students entering KG next school year. There will be no classes for PK and KG on that day.
Mrs. H's preschool class has been having a great time learning all about insects. We have went on many bug hunts, exploring where bugs live. Discussed how they eat and move. How they help or hurt us. And we just learned a big word Metamorphosis and how insects change.
ACE PE classes start their activities with some calisthenics to get warmed up. They are also preparing for the ACE Track and Field Day on Monday, May 18th.
The Thunder Invite Track Meet scheduled for Saturday, May 9th has been canceled. We will still be hosting the LMVC track meet on Tuesday, May 5th, and the Fort Randall Invite on Tuesday, May 12th.

On Wednesday, Andes Central students worked together to clean up the school grounds and surrounding area for Earth Day!

Third graders in Miss Arpan’s class are working on writing and illustrating a short story. Upon completion they will read them to other students in younger classes.
On Earth Day, Mrs. Swanson’s 3rd graders got creative with rock painting, adding bright colors and inspirational messages to spread a little positivity! We will be placing some of our rocks by the school’s flag pole to welcome everyone who comes in with a smile, and they each made a second one to take home and share a message even further.
Such a simple activity, but a great reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big impact—on our planet and each other.

NHS members joined in on BINGO at the nursing home.
The first graders in Mrs. Herrold's class had tons of fun with geometry this week. We constructed cube monsters, built towers with 3D shapes, and created pictures with 2D shapes.
