Students in Career Exploration learned about the Construction Career Cluster and put their knowledge of different careers in the cluster to work. They had to build a structure out of various materials and only had a certain amount of money to build that structure. Each group had a Project Manager, an Architect, and Laborers.
The 7th graders have been learning about cell division. They tried their hand at extracting DNA from strawberries.
In Quarter 1 School Success class, students applied their knowledge of nutrition at Cahoy's! When it comes to being successful in school, your nutrition plays a big role. Students had to find items that had NO trans or saturated fats, and NO added sugars. They learned that yogurt can be sneaky with added sugars and that eating a giant pickle before PE may NOT be a good idea (especially the hot ones 😬).
Miss Arpan’s third grade class is working on a Haunted House persuasive writing project. Students are filling out their sensory organizers to help them write paragraphs.

The first graders in Mrs. Herrold's class have been practicing their math facts with matching games. The students are able to do these facts at a quicker pace every time we play.

5th graders just picked out their instruments for band two weeks ago!! They are working on reading notes and rhythms in class to get them ready for the first week playing their instruments! Quaver is such an essential and helpful resource for me as I use it to help teach the younger kids all of the basics of music, such as beat and rhythm. Quaver comes with worksheets, videos, and quizzes to help students stay engaged. These diagrams on the white board help them remember their notes at the beginning, but I’ve noticed some students starting to memorize their notes already!! They are learning very quickly and are eager to start learning their instruments. Very proud of their progress in such short time!
Jay Petrik from Andes State Bank presented to the Seniors in Andes Central's Entrepreneurial Skills Class. He discussed the 4 C's of Credit: Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Character. He went over a mock loan application, discussed information regarding credit scores, and explained how income vs. expenses affect loans. Jay and Andes State Bank are a part of Andes Central's Entrepreneurial Skills Class. Thank you for working with our students on life skills that will help them be successful!
