
Mrs. Altenburg's 7A class took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to read during DEAR time in the outdoor classroom.







Yesterday, Lily set a new AC/DC discus record at the MS SCC meet, with a throw of 85' 8". (Old record - 81' - 2016). The relay of Apollo, Ruger, Kruze, and Tate, set a new 4 x 2 record in Corsica with a time of 1:58.29. (Old record - 2:00.43 - 2019). The medley relay team of Tate, Ruger, Tyler, and Kruze, set a new record at SCC with a time of 2:06.21 (Old record - 2:07.51). Congrats to our Thunder athletes on a great job at the MS track meet yesterday!




Andes Central FFA is selling Dimock Cheese for a fundraiser. If you are interested, please contact an FFA member. Orders are due by May 2nd.



Andes Central MS/HS families are invited to "A Slice of What's Next" to learn about what to expect for the next school year. Each session will be from 4-5pm in the library, with pizza!

The 4th and 5th graders participated in March Madness by creating their own basketball brackets. There was a three way tie for first place!


Mr. Halverson's 5th period class was enjoying their DEAR time and wanted to show off our good book wall.


Preschoolers have been on an adventure learning and finding insects! We have learned about the characteristics of an insect and worked on our categorizing skills. We have also learned about where they live, and which bugs live in our community! We learn best through play so during recess you may see us outside investigating and collecting bugs!

There will be no school on Friday, April 18th for Good Friday and Monday, April 21st for Easter Monday.

The 5th grade class was practicing their writing skills with different prompts in a game of WeWillWrite.



Third graders are playing a game of Jeopardy to review their math skills.


The 4th grade class enjoyed doing a STEM contest. Students worked together with a partner to build the tallest tower using only plastic cups and popsicle sticks.





Due to the wind and temperatures, the JH track meet in Gregory scheduled for tomorrow, April 14th, has been cancelled.

Students in Mr. Winter's HS Painting class recently completed an impasto painting. The goal was to apply thick layers of paint and then use paint shapers to create unique tactile textures.

Andes Central's Junior/Senior Prom Grand March will be tomorrow night in the Auxiliary Gym @ 7:30pm. Andes Central MS students participated in the Mitchell Band festival last week. Students from 19 schools attended this festival. Congrats AC band on a great job!!!


On April 3rd and 4th, FFA members traveled to Brookings to compete at State FFA. Emery and Madeline competed in Floriculture, Luke competed in Livestock Judging, and Marin competed in Horse Judging. Congratulations to AC FFA on a great year!
