To wrap up the year in Mrs. Johnson's 6th Grade class, students are learning about the medieval times of England.
Mrs. Maynard’s classroom attended the Missouri River Watershed Festival in Yankton, SD where students leaned about the Missouri River.
Encouragement from others can help increase confidence so the 8th grade CASE class is working on posters to hang in the halls to help give students the confidence to finish the year strong.

Mrs. H's preschool class has been exploring insects. They have been having fun searching for and discussing them. This week we have been learning about how insects change. We made caterpillars and we painted wings to change them into butterflies.

2nd graders have been working hard this year on improving their reading skills. This week in Reading Interventions, students read 100 sight words, read long-vowel decodable stories, and used letter tiles to spell words with vowel pairs.

3rd grade cleaning up on Earth Day!
The first graders celebrated Earth Day by picking up trash near the school. Thank you for helping to keep our town clean!
Mrs. Maynard's Physical Science class toured the AES Prevailing Wind Park to learn more about how wind turbines generate energy. Thank you to Tyson Brooks and Todd Hornstra for the tour.
6-12 choir students are researching music for their upcoming year 2025-26.
Andes Central MS/HS families are invited to "A Slice of What's Next" to learn about what to expect for the next school year. Each session will be from 4-5pm in the library, with pizza!

The 4th grade and 5th grade students built marshmallow and toothpick towers. They competed against each other to see who could build the tallest one.
Jag students and second grade enjoyed playing the subtraction game 1500. They had to roll up to three dice and subtract that number from 1500. The first one closest to zero without busting was the winner.
Andes Central FFA is selling Dimock Cheese for a fundraiser. If you are interested, please contact an FFA member. Orders are due by May 2nd.
Mrs. Altenburg's 7A class took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to read during DEAR time in the outdoor classroom.
Yesterday, Lily set a new AC/DC discus record at the MS SCC meet, with a throw of 85' 8". (Old record - 81' - 2016). The relay of Apollo, Ruger, Kruze, and Tate, set a new 4 x 2 record in Corsica with a time of 1:58.29. (Old record - 2:00.43 - 2019). The medley relay team of Tate, Ruger, Tyler, and Kruze, set a new record at SCC with a time of 2:06.21 (Old record - 2:07.51). Congrats to our Thunder athletes on a great job at the MS track meet yesterday!
