Reminder: There will be no school tomorrow, February 16th for President's Day.

Some of the high school choir members are working on choreography for the Spring Concert.

The 7th Graders are working on paper mache' and/or loom weaving in Mr. Winter's Class.

February is a month with numerous celebrations, and holiday books are fun to read. Go to Sleep, Groundhog! is a cute book that also includes three fall and winter holidays. The hibernating groundhog can't sleep, takes walks to get tired, and sees things he's never seen before: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. A witch, a turkey, and Santa all help the groundhog back to his burrow, read him a bedtime story, and give him a bedtime snack. When February 2 finally arrives, the tired groundhog wants to sleep through it instead of checking for his shadow. The book ends with a background of Groundhog Day. Various elementary classes enjoyed this book, including Mrs. Swanson's third graders.

Mrs. Maynard's Physical Science class is studying friction as part of their unit on forces.

Good Luck to the AC/DC Thunder Girls Basketball team as they host Sunshine Bible Academy at DC tonight. JV girls will start @ 6pm (2 quarters), followed by varsity. Games will be live streamed at: https://liveticket.tv/acdc/

The Freshmen wrote about what they love about Andes Central 

Mrs. Deurmier's class and Mrs. Johnson visited the Lake Andes Nursing Home on January 28. The students and residents enjoyed making some Valentine's Day crafts together.

The 7th graders in Mrs. Johnson’s History class are learning about the Constitution. They are watching/listening to fun videos about the Bill of Rights, Amendments, etc., while completing a variety of tasks such as notes and coloring.

The JH boys basketball game at DC today, Jan 30th will now start at 5pm.

The Thunder Basketball team will travel to Tyndall today for a double header vs Bon Homme. MS Boys will start @ 3:45pm in the aux gym with two games; JV girls will follow @ 5pm in the aux gym (3 quarters); JV boys will start @ 5pm in the main gym, followed by V girls @ 6:15pm, then V boys.
