In Guidance, students learned about responsibility and breaking down what responsible choices look like. Students were encouraged to choose one small action that shows how they can support themselves and others, such as:
-Helping without being asked
-Finishing something you start
-Being kind even when it’s hard
-Speaking up for what’s right
To practice fifth graders wrapped up the fall semester by engaging in a team building exercise and made towers using only paper and tape. Good job students.

Mrs. Swanson's 3rd grade students have been learning how to stay healthy and make smart food choices through the diabetes prevention program. Mark, from Wagner IHS, comes once a month to explain the importance of balanced meals, physical activity, and understanding how food choices can help keep their bodies strong and energized.
Last week, Andes Central Elementary held their Annual Family Breakfast, where students invited their families to have breakfast with them.

During library class, fourth graders listened to the book, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and then discussed their dreams for our country and for themselves. They shared acts of kindness that they have performed or received. Then the students checked out two chapter books.
The 1st graders are currently working on mosaics in Mr. Winter's Art Class.
Although it hasn't been looking like winter outside, it hasn't stopped Mrs. H's preschool class from learning all about it inside. We have discussed what the weather is like, how snow is formed, what we like to do in the winter, and we made our own snow (since there is not any outside!). We also found out that a snowman would melt inside and why.
Reminder: It's Spirit Week! Andes Central students can dress up to show their school spirit!

Middle School boys basketball practice has been cancelled for today, January 16th.
Mrs. Deurmier's class took a trip to the nursing home on Wednesday. The kids and the residents always enjoy their time reading and visiting together.

After learning about different subfields of psychology, Ms. Keizer's psychology class played a game of "Name that Psychologist" to see if they can identify where the subfield best fits.
