In Mr. Halverson's Algebra I class, students learned to sketch graphs by using the key features as in where the function is positive, negative, increasing, decreasing, intercepts, and end behavior.
Mr. Hooks and the JAG students attended a Leadership Conference in Box Elder, SD on October 2nd & 3rd. The student were able to work with other JAG student to find great ideas to share with the AC JAG program. They had an elegant dinner where they discussed proper etiquette for a business dinner. The students were required to wear business professional attire.

On Oct 7th, Tiana Spotted Thunder visited Andes Central School to teach 24 students in 3rd - 5th grade how to sing the flag song. Tiana is a Lakota recording artist, model, and social worker from the Black Hills in SD. She travels throughout North America to powwows as a backup singer for drum groups and performs solo for various audiences. These students will sing the Flag song for that Veteran's Day Program on Nov 11.

The Andes Central sixth graders are enjoying a Halloween Blookit game before lunch in Mrs. Altenburg's ELA class.
Last week Mrs. Derry's preschool class learned about their five senses. We used our sense of smell while we painted with lime Jello and sense of touch with shaving cream. During large group, students guessed what certain items were, while using only certain senses.
Yesterday, the AC/DC Thunder Cross Country Varsity Team rat at Regions in Scotland. Everyone did a great job! Congrats to Aspen and Eilie, who qualified to run at the state meet in Rapid City on Saturday, October 26th! Good Luck at State!

Last week, Andes Central 6-12th grade students picked up garbage throughout the neighborhood.
